The Design Team
On February 20, 2006, the CNTAARD Board of Commissioners selected The Southwest Louisiana Design Team as the exhibit design firm for the National Hurricane Museum and Science Center. The selection of this firm was made through an RFP process. Fourteen world-class exhibit design firms submitted proposals. The culmination of the process was a final presentation by each of the top five firms to the CNTAARD Board.

The Southwest Louisiana Design Team has begun its work on the following:
- Producing a market feasibility and economic impact study;
- Developing the storyline for the museum;
- Providing the board with conceptual drawings of exhibits;
- Beginning preparation on a random order of magnitude budget for the project;
- Preparing the initial exhibit design documents;
- Assisting with and make recommendations concerning a location for the project;
- And, assisting with public and private fundraising efforts through the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising plan.
